Description:

During this webinar, three presenters will share their HTC’s approach to working with schools to provide care to students living with bleeding disorders. Deanna Maida, hematologist with the South Texas Comprehensive Hemophilia Center, will discuss the toolkit her HTC uses to support patients and families in learning about resources for success at school. This toolkit includes resources on daycare and school and also supports families to communicate important information about their child’s bleeding disorder and access educational tools that are available. Angelica Chironis, Nurse Practitioner at Versiti Comprehensive Center for Bleeding Disorders, will discuss in-service trainings and other professional development she leads for school staff. Finally, Glen Roy, Nurse Coordinator at the MaineHealth Bleeding Disorders Center, and Michael Hersey, Director of Sports Medicine and Physical Therapist with MaineHealth, will discuss their HTC’s outreach to school coaches and athletics staff to provide education about working with students with bleeding disorders. Please join us for these presentations and discussion!

This webinar is jointly provided by Partners for Advancing Clinical Education (PACE) and ATHN. There is no cost associated with this webinar.
