During this webinar, multiple disciplines from the University of Michigan Hemophilia and Coagulation Disorders will share their perspectives on a specific case pertaining to a patient experiencing musculoskeletal bleeds in the context of being treated with contemporary therapies, including non-factor replacement therapies. Each speaker will discuss aspects of the case that they handled and how they engaged with the patient and family. Speakers will share their questions and explorations about working with patients being treated with contemporary therapies. Collectively, the University of Michigan presenters will share insights about their team discussions on navigating musculoskeletal bleeds in the context of contemporary therapies and how they are reconsidering how to educate patients about bleeding. This webinar is free and open to all disciplines. Please join us!

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
  1. Articulate the challenges with identifying and managing musculoskeletal bleeding when a patient is on a non-factor replacement therapy.
  2. Explain how multi-disciplinary team members in an HTC can collaborate to support patients with bleeding episodes while on non-factor replacement therapies.
  3. Describe the collaboration between sports medicine and hematology in supporting individuals with bleeding disorders.
  4. Discuss decision-making and considerations tied to initial prophylaxis options and transitioning from non-factor replacement therapies back to factor replacement.
